There are lots of ways you can get involved in STEM, however I was introduced into STEM via the Stemettes Student to Stemette programme.

In the programme you are selected a Sherpa (a woman who works in STEM) who guides you in navigating STEM. In the programme I has help choosing what areas interested me as well as deciding what A levels were right for me. As part of the programme you do lots of exciting activities such as work shadowing.

I would really recommend the programme as well as going to some of the other great events Stemettes plan (available to view on their OtotheB app), however sorry guys this opportunity is available only to girls!

Other ways you can get involved include simply finding out what events are happening near you and finding others like yourself to build your network. Moreover starting a STEM club in your school can be a very rewarding experience as not only are you sharing STEM with others, it is a sign to employers and universities that you are hardworking dedicated student with practical skills.
